Sydney Hatch King joined the Bountiful Rotary Club in 2017 in order to further her passion for service to the community. Her grandfather was a founding member of the Bountiful Rotary Club and she is thrilled to follow in his ardent footsteps. She served as the club president in 2019-2020, Assistant Governor in 2021-2023, and currently serves as club Youth Chair and Interact Advisor, and as District 5420 RYLA Chair.

For the last 17 years, Sydney has owned and operated a small chain of car washes and served on the Western Carwash Association Board for 8 years. She has been able to convert that business into a new venture of commercial real estate. Prior to entering the car washing world, she owned a social media marketing company and worked with the Salt Lake YWCA in their grants and development programs. When she saw the need, started and ran a school district spelling bee for many years, which lead her to the introduction to the Bountiful Rotary Club as one of the bee sponsors.

After graduating from Utah State University in Communications she married Kelly King. They still enjoy cheering on the Aggie football and basketball teams. They have three terrific adult children, one wonderful grandchild and one very spoiled bulldog. Sydney and Kelly enjoy biking and skiing, and have recently discovered the joy of travel and look forward to exploring many countries and cultures together.

Rotary’s mission and vision, along with the culture of the members have fueled Sydney’s desire to take action. Her desire to impact youth through Rotary stems from her commitment to empowering the next generation with tools that Rotary can provide, such as an invaluable sense of responsibility and purpose by fostering Service Above Self. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve as the District Governor for 2027-2028 and in supporting the growth and success of your Rotary experiences.
